Front panel

The front part contains the main components necessary for the use of the Micro5. The operator is positioned in front of the machine and has an interface in the form of a touch screen.

• The upper left part has a door and allows access to the tool and pallet storage area.

• The upper right-hand side has a door with an interlocking mechanism for access to the machining area.

• The lower left part has a door (locked by a square key) and allows access to the pneumatic components, the microlubrication and the extinguishing system.

• The lower right side has a door and allows access to the chip collector and the sprinkler system.

• The front panel includes an emergency stop button, the front connectors and, depending on the variant chosen, the display is either integrated into the structure (standalone) or placed on a separate workbench.
  

• Not pictured: As an option, a workbench can be mounted and fixed at the Micro5's headband. The workbench integrates a 22'' touch screen mounted on an articulated arm, a keyboard and a wireless mouse, a block of 4 drawers, electrical connectors and a cable management system under the tray.

• Not pictured: Without the workbench option, a 7'' touch screen is fixed on a swivel at the Micro5's headband.

Storage area

The storage area refers to all the space on the upper left of the Micro5. It has a door that allows the tool and pallet magazine to rotate towards the outside of the machine to facilitate loading. This area includes:

• SCARA (changer robot)

• The 3-slot tool disk magazine

• The 8-slot toolholder disks

• The 4-slot pallet magazine

• The extended magazine + 2 disks + 2 pallets 

• The paddle gripper

The gate is equipped with an interlock. The front panel is partly glazed.

Machining area

The machining area refers to the entire space on the upper right-hand side of the Micro5. This area includes:

• The machining center

• The spindle [012 030/018 206/017 607/018 557]

• Tool breakage control

• The probe magazine

• The sliding partition (connection to the storage area)

• The chip-oil hopper (connection to the lower part)

• Interface with SFeed5 and Stock5 modules (right side hatch)

A removable hatch located above the machining center allows access to the interfaces in the upper part of the machining booth (suction, probe, etc.). The door is equipped with an interlock. The front panel is glazed. The right side face is partly glazed.

Pneumatic part

The pneumatic part is located in the lower left part. This part contains:

• The microlubrication system

• The air handling unit

• The pneumatic valve island

• Flow limiters

• Pressure controllers

• The extinguishing system

The door is locked with a square key.

Chip & lubrication part

The pneumatic part is located in the lower right part.  This part contains:

• The chip tray

• The cooling and lubrication system

• The microlubrication system
  

The door can be locked if the "precious material" option is available.

Rear panel

The rear part allows access to the mechanical and electrical components for maintenance and repair operations. In principle, the operator should not have access to this part.

• The main disconnect switch is located on the right hand side so that it can be accessed from both the rear and the front of the machine.

• The upper part is closed by a removable panel equipped with 2 key locks. 

• The left part integrates a fan and is removable.

• The upper part of the cover can also be removed to provide access for major repairs.

• The lower part is closed by 2 locks and has a fan and an exhaust grille. It contains all the electrical control and command components.

• The control panel of the fire extinguishing system is located on the lower right door.

• The connection interfaces of the machine and the data plate are located on the lower right fixed part.

Upper part

The rear part is closed by a removable cover with 2 key locks. The cover should only be removed by trained personnel and in accordance with the safety precautions (power down). The left side of the cover has integrated ventilation and is fixed to the frame with screws. The upper part of the cover is also removable.

This part contains:

Left side

• The machining center, axes, guide rails, rules and encoders.

• The centralized lubrication system (rails only) located on the left wall.

• The electrical and pneumatic connections in the lower left part.

Right side

• SCARA

• The tool magazine with 3 locations

• The pallet magazine

• The extended magazine

• The gripper

• On the upper part, all the connections of the various magazines

Lower part (electrical compartment)

The lower part is closed by 2 locks and has a fan and an exhaust grille. It contains all the electrical control and command components.

This part contains:

• Power supply, protection devices (circuit breakers) and voltage converters.

• The control system (PLC) and I/O management system.

• Safety systems

• Motor controllers for the NC part as well as for the SCARA.

• Control assemblies and interfaces of the various components.

• Network interfaces..
